Currently my full time gig is in finance and preparing SBA loans for small minority businesses. I like what I do because I get paid a kings ransom to help people. However, this is not my passion. Iam a "serial entrepreneur" My passion is Technology and becoming a writers guild member. Which currently I do writing as a side hussle. The need for writers in Hollywood is overwhelming. The industry has opened up for fresh ideas and minority perspectives on many topics. This is something I would love to do as fulltime gig. I have recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with an AA in Business. 2 weeks ago I began my pusuit of my Bachelors Degree in Information Technology with a focus in web developement. I will be done in 2012. I can't complain, I have a great life. Initially I took a major hit from the economic downturn. I stood dazed and confused because I lost a business that my wife and I built from the basement of our home in Maryland to a 5000 square foot retail space, with offices, and a warehouse and 17 fulltime employees. The housing bubble destroyed me almost overnight. However, I took a year off and during this time I realized that change brings the opportunity for growth. My advice to anyone at any age is to consider going to college and get a degree in technology. This industry will not end being a bubble, technology is here to stay. With a degree in the technology sector, you will make a very good living working for someone or working for your self. North Carolina is big player. This state is where a lot technology companies base their operations. Their are a lot of people who are intimidated when the word technology is mentioned, don't be no one was born with a technolgy degree you goto school to learn it. This is where the majority of millionairs will continue to come from for a long time to come. Every busines or job seeking plan requires having an experienced mentor and lots of networking. "Just my two cents".
